International Students
Attendance and Punctuality Policy
ATTENDANCE POLICY:
All students need to maintain an attendance level of above 80%, otherwise a Certificate of Attendance cannot be issued on completion of course. Non-EU/EEA students registered for student visas in Ireland with ECM College must attend at least 80% of course contact hours. Attendance is a provision of each student’s visa and non-attendance may result in loss of a student’s permission to stay in Ireland. In the event that a student is unable to attend class for any reason, written confirmation giving reason for non-attendance is required and should be given to administration at the earliest opportunity. This requirement is mandatory for non-EU/EEA students in order to comply with both ECM and GNIB regulations. This information is clearly laid out and available for students in the ECM Student Handbook and is also communicated to all students on arrival at ECM and during the initial orientation programme.
PUNCTUALITY POLICY:
ECM’s Punctuality Policy applies to all ECM students. All classes begin promptly on time. Late arrivals may be accepted into class/lecture up to 15 minutes late. This rule applies for those students that may arrive after the break. All students should consult their timetable for class/lecture start time, break time and end time. Students must stay for the duration of the session in order to be marked as present. Students are not permitted to leave early for any reason.
